As simple as it may sound, many people are applying their nail polish incorrectly. Here are some simple steps to achieving a longer lasting polish! Once you have shaped and filed your nails, the next step is to apply nail polish.

First apply a BASE COAT. This will protect your nails from the polish and will also make you polish stay on longer.
Apply a thin coat of colour polish.Try to apply a thin layer as it dries faster.
Once that coat is completely dry, apply the second coat. Depending on the opacity, a third coat may be needed for sheer colours. Allow your nail poish to dry.
Final Step, 2 coats of TOP coat ( letting 1 coat dry at a time)
This will help your colour polish. Pleae note that when your nails are chipping, its really chipping the clear top coat instead of the colour coat.=)

OPI announces the launch of its eighth annual limited edition Pink of Hearts promotion, a duo pack featuring a new pink confetti glitter hue The Power of Pink alongside the classic light pink crème shade Mod About You. I was first introduced to Crackle Nail Polish probably a decade ago when I say my first Crackle Polish from L'Oreal. It wasn't as popular than, I always thought it was a very clever product. I was imore ntrigued as to so how they could come up with a formula that could separate nail polish to create a realistic "crackle" effect. Crackle went MIA for a while, at least where I was. I didn't see anyone rocking it nor did I see any stores carry it. Then a couple years ago it was a fab again, Crackle everything! Then it was quiet again, but even since my L'Oreal crackle days to OPI, I always kept them around! I've always like the look of it and I'm a type of girl that if I like something regardless of when it was in, I will continue to rock it my own way. I love to use crackle as it is, a top coat color AND what I have been using it more so it to "FIX" nail polish. When an old polish cracks/chips, if I get lazy to remove everything and reapply it, I just add a Crackle Color on top and instantly it looks brand new!

Here I am using Yves Rocher Retropical Crackle on top of Rimmel Yellow Nail Polish ( the Purple polish s from the Mariah Carey OPI Sand Collection Purple and Yellow are complimentary colors!). It's very rare that I come across a Turquoise crackle which is why I was very intrigued to this polish. This is also my first tome trying a Yves Rocher polish . The bottle is uber so cute and just `3ml which is a very small amount. If you are the type that enjoys seasonal colors and trends this is ideal for you.

Pros: Love the color and the packaging . It's very affordable and very compact in size.
Cons: It sets very matte which requires a top coat to smoothen out the polish. It was a seasonal product so it's difficult to find!

The whole process was fairly easy to execute. I started off by removing my nail polish completely with some acetone, file my nails down to shape, push my cuticles back and buff the shine away. Then I proceeded to wipe my nails down with the pads they provide to get off any residue left on my nails. Fairly straight forward. Now comes the part where I think I had a bit of difficulty and thats applying the nail strips. Some nail strips are going to be either too small or way to big so I would opt for the bigger strip, smooth it onto my nail then grab the cuticle stick and shape to my finger. Its smooth sailing afterwards. Apply the gel nail polish and lay your finger under the LED light for 30 seconds. (the light will automatically shut off) Then your done! There is absolutely no drying time which is a HUGE A+ for me! I'm the type of person who usually ruins their nails within 5 mins of painting them. Completing all 10 nails took about half an hour which maybe a bit long for some but the 2 weeks you get out of them is well worth it.
